It can be particularly frustrating trying to figure out exactly what you need when your designer is using jargon (noun – 1. special words or expressions that are used by a particular profession or group and are difficult for others to understand) that means nothing to you. Here’s a brief explanation to help you understand so you can make an educated decision when speaking to us about your needs.
What is Logo Design?
Put succinctly, a logo is an image that is used to identify your business or brand. The logo design may contain custom illustrations, symbols, color, style, and fonts — all which combine to create an identifiable representation of your brand or business.
Good examples of clear logo design would be Facebook, Twitter, McDonalds, Google and Pepsi. In many cases, you don’t even need the whole logo to know who the brand is.
The logo is basically the “face” of your business and can be used on business cards, fliers, correspondence and everything that represents your business. The terrific thing about a logo is you can register your logo as a trademark to protect yourself from anyone else using it.
We design your logo using Adobe Illustrator, which creates the artwork in vector format in 300 dpi (dots per inch). A vector design ensures that your artwork can be resized to any size and still retain the same quality. With a logo you purchase the design from us. That means you are paying for the intellectual property rights and own the artwork. A finished logo is yours to do with what you want – you may use it on any form of media you like, because you own it.
What is Header Design?
A header is an image placed at the top of your blog or website that may contain a logo, graphics, tagline, or some other form of text. Occasionally, a header image will contain social media icons, or even search bars or banner ads. The header is created at 72 dpi (which is web resolution) and the graphics created for web are not conducive to printing. We retain intellectual rights to graphic designs that we create, and they may not be reproduced or altered without written permission from us. Here are a few of the header designs that we have created:
